Dara is a five-year-old boy. His father is a tuk-tuk driver and his mother has worked in Japan for the past two years to help support their family. When his father goes to work, he stays with his grandparents, as he is not old enough to attend school. In his free time, he likes to watch cartoons and play ball with his friends.
For the past year, Dara has been experiencing difficulty swallowing, sleeping at night, and difficulty breathing. He also has a poor appetite. He was recently diagnosed with enlarged tonsils and adenoids and, if left untreated, his symptoms will persist and possibly worsen over time.
Fortunately, our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre (CSC), is helping Dara to receive treatment. On September 20th, surgeons at CSC will remove his tonsils and adenoids, hopefully relieving Dara of his symptoms and helping him live much more comfortably. Now, CSC is requesting $241 to fund Dara's procedure and care.
Dara's father shared, "I hope he gets better soon after surgery. He is small and often sick. I want him to grow up to be a normal boy."
