Nancy is a girl from Kenya. She is an only child. Three months ago, Nancy began complaining of persistent headaches and weakness in her left limbs. At school, her teachers noticed a decline in her performance. Her vision became blurry, and her left ear developed an ache. She could no longer walk without support and even lost her appetite. Her young mother was very worried and took her to a referral hospital, where a CT scan was performed. Nancy was diagnosed with a brain tumor. If not treated, Nancy at risk of paralysis, persistent headaches, or brain damage. Fortunately, she is scheduled to undergo a craniotomy to treat the tumor on November 21. Her family needs help raising $1,500 to fund this procedure. “I really look forward to seeing my daughter functioning well once more,” says Nancy’s mother.

Alicwamu is a child from Uganda. He is the second of three children. His parents are farmers. For one year, Alicwamu has had a hydrocele, which is a swelling in a sensitive area. This causes hydrocele causes him pain. Fortunately, on August 8, he will undergo hydrocele repair surgery at our medical partner's care center. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $185 to fund Alicwamu's surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably. "After surgery my grandson will have peace of mind and grow with good health," his grandmother says.

Raksmey is a kindergartener from Cambodia. She has one younger brother. She likes to do puzzles and drink green tea. She wants to be a teacher when she grows up. Four months ago, Raksmey developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her blurry vision. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside. When Raksmey learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, she traveled for three hours seeking treatment. On July 18, doctors will perform lens aspiration and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure. Her aunt says, "I am worried about her vision and how it affects her education. I hope she can return to school soon."
