Sak is a rice farmer from Cambodia. She has one daughter and one grandchild. She likes to watch the news on TV and listen to monks pray on the radio.
Two years ago, Sak developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her blurry vision, itchiness, and a clouded lens. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Sak learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, she traveled for two hours seeking treatment. On October 17, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
She says, "I hope I can return to work and lead an independent life."
