Srey Mom is a finance student from Cambodia. She is the second youngest of five sisters, and she enjoys playing games on Facebook in her free time.
When she was ten years old, Srey Mom had an ear infection. This infection caused the tympanic membrane, or the ear drum, in her right ear to perforate. For this reason, Srey Mom experiences discharge, itchiness, tinnitus, and hearing loss. She has a difficult time communicating with others and finds it difficult to focus at school.
Srey Mom traveled to our medical partner's care center to receive treatment. On July 2, she will undergo a myringoplasty procedure in her right ear. During this procedure, surgeons will close the perforation. Our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, is requesting $423 to fund this procedure. This covers medications, supplies, and inpatient care.
She says, "I hope that after surgery, I will be able to hear clearly and will no longer have an infection."
