Arinda is a young student from Uganda. He has two siblings who are both in school. He wants to become a doctor. The mother is a small-scale farmer. For three years, Arinda has had a swelling on his scalp. It is painful and has caused him discomfort and disfigurement. Arinda traveled to our medical partner's care center to receive treatment. On October 2, surgeons will remove the mass. Now, Arinda needs help to raise $187 to fund this procedure. His mother says, “I will be glad to have my child happy and in good health again after the surgery and I continue with cultivation to cater for my family.”

Loserian is a child from Tanzania. He is the youngest in a family of six children. Loserian’s parents are both subsistence farmers. Loserian was diagnosed with genu varus. His leg is bowed outward. This condition is typically caused by an excessive accumulation of fluoride in the bones, which often stems from contaminated drinking water. As a result, he experiences pain and discomfort when walking. He has been having trouble walking to and from school. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $940 to fund corrective surgery for Loserian. The procedure is scheduled to take place on August 24. Treatment will hopefully restore Loserian's mobility, allow him to participate in a variety of activities, and greatly decrease his risk of future complications. Loserian says, “Please help me get the surgery needed to enable me to go back to school.”
