JP is a seven-year-old student from the Philippines. He lives with his parents and two other siblings. When he isn't at school, JP helps his mother do household chores and plays with his friends in the neighborhood. JP was born with an abnormal condition in a sensitive area that causes bowel dysfunction. JP needs surgery to cure his condition. Our medical partner, International Care Ministries (ICM), is helping JP receive treatment. He is scheduled to undergo treatment on August 24, and his family needs help raising $1,500 to fund his treatment. "Thank you for giving JP a chance to live a normal life after all the operations needed for him to be fully cured," says JP's mother.

Jonalyn is a four-year-old girl living in the Philippines with her aunt. Jonalyn's biological parents have separated, and her aunt is her primary guardian. During the day, she helps her aunt do household chores, such as washing the dishes and cleaning the house. When Jonalyn was two years old, she was diagnosed with Hirshsprung's Disease, a congenital disorder where there are missing nerve cells in the muscle tissue surrounding the colon, causing bowel dysfunction. Our medical partner, International Care Ministries, has scheduled a procedure to correct this condition. The total cost of the procedure is $1,500, and covers supplies, medications, transportation, and six days of inpatient care. The procedure is scheduled for July 26.

Kim is a 17-year-old student from the Philippines. He lives with his parents and four siblings. When he is not in school, he is busy helping his mother with household chores and playing with his friends. When Kim was 12, he began to experience extreme pain in his genital region. He visited a local hospital where doctors found that one of his testicles had not descended, and recommended surgery. Seeking treatment through our medical partner, International Care Ministries, Kim is scheduled to undergo surgery to correct his condition on June 28. He is requesting $1,011 to cover the total cost of his procedure and care. "I am so glad that Kim will be having the chance to undergo surgery," says Kim's mother. "I am afraid that Kim has the possibility to develop a tumor. I do not want that to happen to Kim and that is why I am so thankful for this opportunity."

Ivan is a three-year-old boy from the Philippines. He lives with his parents and older sister. During the day, he stays at home with his mother while his father farms and his older sister goes to school. He is very active and loves to play with other kids. About a year ago, Ivan was diagnosed with a hernia, which has been increasing in size over time. Seeking treatment through our medical partner, International Care Ministries, Ivan is scheduled to undergo hernia repair surgery on June 28. His family is requesting $413 to cover the total cost of their son's procedure and care. "All I want for Ivan is for him to be operated on and he will get to be treated with his condition," says Ivan's mother. "I want Ivan to have a normal life and to enjoy his childhood."

Theresa is a 49-year-old photographer from the Philippines. She is married and the mother of four children. Her business takes her to many local towns, photographing graduation ceremonies. In 2010, Theresa felt a lump on her neck that has since increased in size. She sought medical care at a government hospital and was prescribed medication, but the growth only continued to get bigger. A doctor suggested surgery, but Theresa was not able to afford such treatment at that time. Our medical partner, International Care Ministries, is requesting $1,202 to fund Theresa's surgery. She is scheduled for treatment on June 27. ​"I am so grateful and thankful that there is a foundation that can assist me with my condition​," Theresa says. "​I want to serve my family and others who are in need. I want my life to be ​more ​meaningful.​ Our family struggles financially and we cannot afford the hospital fees for the surgery.​ Thank you so much for this opportunity​ you have given. I pray that the surgery will be a success​. I am looking forward to being healed and helping my husband to provide for our family.​"

Loise is a four-year-old girl from the Philippines who loves to play with her siblings, cousins, and friends during the day. Loise was born with a cleft lip and palate, which causes her to have feeding and speech difficulties, as well as be bullied by other kids her age. Loise was able to undergo [cleft lip repair](https://watsi.org/profile/055d1531bdb8-loise-glory) last September through our medical partner, International Care Ministries (ICM). She returns to ICM to undergo cleft palate repair surgery on May 23. She is requesting $281 to cover the total cost of her procedure. "We are happy for this opportunity and thank you for your help," says Loise's mother.

Zion is a four-month-old baby from the Philippines. He lives with his parents, to whom he gives great joy. Zion was born with congenital cleft lip and palate, meaning that there is an opening in his lips and palate where they did not fuse completely. This makes it hard for him to feed, and puts him at risk for aspiration (inhaling food or liquid). Zion's mother says, "I really desire that my son will be cured from his condition. I am thankful that you help us in doing that. I want to see my son grow normally and not be bullied by other people." Watsi is requesting $153 to fund Zion's cleft lip repair. His surgery is scheduled for May 21.

Cielo is a five-year-old active and playful child from the Philippines. He loves writing and drawing, and his favorite food is bread. When he was born, it was discovered that he had an abnormal bowel condition. He was immediately referred for surgery. Six days after he was born, he had a colostomy, which diverts a piece of the colon to an artificial opening in the abdominal wall. Ever since his procedure, Cielo's parents have taken extreme care to ensure that he does not get an infection. When Cielo reached the age of one, he had an intestine prolapse. He was brought back to the hospital for surgery, where the prolapsed intestines were excised and removed. Cielo was supposed to have a PSARP, a procedure to repair the bowel condition, six months after his colostomy, but his parents were unable to fund the surgery. Eventually, his mother brought him to a pediatric surgeon for assessment. Our medical partner, International Care Ministries (ICM), has scheduled the PSARP for April 28. ICM is requesting $1,500 to fund Cielo's treatment. "I want Cielo to have a normal bowel movement, so that when he goes to school he will be confident and won't be bullied by others, and also for him to to be confident about himself," says Cielo's mother. "I will protect him as long as I am with him."

Meet five-year-old Mark from the Philippines. He is an active young boy and loves to eat vegetables and vegetable soup. He lives with his mother, who works hard as a barbecue vendor to take care of her son. Mark was born with a birth defect known as anorectal malformation. When he was only two days old, Mark underwent a colostomy procedure to prevent bowel obstruction. To fully correct his condition, surgeons told Mark's mother that her son would need two more surgeries. However, Mark's mother could not afford the surgeries. Our medical partner, International Care Ministries, organized a series of consultations and tests for Mark. He will undergo corrective surgery on April 24. Mark needs our help to raise $1,500. This will pay for his surgery, hospital stay, and transport to and from the hospital. Mark's mother says, "I hope that his surgery will be a success and that he will have a normal life and be able to finish his studies afterwards."

Jomary is a one-year-old baby boy from the Philippines. He lives with his parents and one sibling. During the day, he loves to be around his mom and to sing and dance. Jomary was born with a cleft lip. His condition causes him to have feeding and speech difficulties. He needs surgery to correct this condition, and his family needs help raising money. "We are happy for this opportunity and thank you for your help" says Marites, Jomary's mother. On May 23, Jomary will undergo cleft lip repair at our medical partner's care center, Bacolod Adventist Medical Center. Our medical partner, International Care Ministries, is requesting $153 to fund this procedure. The requested $153 pays for surgical materials, medication, and transportation.

Theonikko, or Theo, is a cheerful young man. He is currently studying and working as a missionary. Theo lives with his mother and brother in a missionary center in the Philippines. Theo has developed a hernia in a sensitive area. This causes him pain and discomfort. It also prevents him from carrying heavy objects and participating in strenuous activities. The hernia has continued to swell, causing Theo to become very concerned about his condition. After being referred to our medical partner, International Care Ministries (ICM), Theo has undergone several laboratory tests to confirm his condition. He has been diagnosed with an inguinal hernia and will require surgery. Doctors at ICM have scheduled Theo for a hernia repair surgery on March 20. $413 will cover the costs of Theo's surgery. Theo says, "Thank you so much for this opportunity. I am praying that the whole treatment will be a success. I am excited that after the surgery I will be able to do work easily and live life to the fullest."

Princess is a one-year-old girl from the Philippines who loves playing with her toys. Unfortunately, Princess was born with congenital cleft lip and palate. This makes it difficult for her to swallow food and drinks, making feeding Princess very challenging and uncomfortable. To fix her lip and palate, she will receive surgery from our medical partner's hospital, Bacolod Adventist Medical Center, on May 22. The surgery requires general anesthesia and a short hospital stay, for a total cost of $153. Once Princess receives this surgery, she'll be able to lead a much more comfortable and normal life. Her mother expresses her gratitude, saying, "I am asking for help for my daughter to be operated on so she can have a normal childhood and future. Also, if she is operated on she can eat well and will not be aspirated. Thank you in advance for the help you will give us."
