Chhorn is a 63-year-old woman from Cambodia. Chhorn is married and has three sons, two daughters, and 10 grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoys visiting the pagoda, watching Thai dramas, and listening to the monks pray.
About a year ago, Chhorn started getting blurred vision, tearing, irritation, and itchiness in both eyes. She was diagnosed with having pterygium, a pink, triangular tissue growth that occurs in the cornea. She traveled for three hours with her daughter to reach our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, for treatment.
On May 25, Chhorn will undergo surgery to remove the tissue growth from each eye, and allow Chhorn to see clearly and enjoy her hobbies once again. The $148 amount needed for the surgery covers medication, hospital supplies, and physician costs.
