Thy is a potato and bean farmer from Cambodia. He has two sons, three daughters, and eight grandchildren. He likes to watch the news and films on TV. He also enjoys listening to radio programs.
About a year ago, Thy developed a cataract in each eye, causing him blurred vision, itching, headaches, and photophobia. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Thy learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, he traveled for eight hours seeking treatment. On March 14, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification surgery and an intraocular lens implant in each eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $398 procedure.
He says, “I hope I can see clearly so I can continue my work and I can go to outside on my own again.”
