13-year-old Arjun lives with his parents and siblings in Nepal. He is a student in the fourth grade. The family has a farm and sells produce and firewood.
While playing hide and seek with his friends at school, Arjun stumbled on a stone and fell down, fracturing his left arm near the elbow. He has had to take medication to control the pain. He has difficulty moving the injured hand, which is swollen.
Arjun’s father walked nine hours to bring his son to Bayalpata Hospital, the care center of our medical partner, Possible. On February 23, doctors will align Arjun’s broken arm and set it with a cast to ensure proper healing.
Sales of produce and firewood from the family’s farm barely generate enough income to support them for six months of the year. As a result, Arjun will need help raising $195 to pay for his care. Funding also pays for an overnight hospital stay, X-rays, physical therapy, medicine, and cast removal after his arm has healed.
