Proeung is a 61-year-old farmer from Cambodia. She has three daughters, four grandchildren, and enjoys listening to the monks pray on the radio in her free time.
Two years ago, Proeung developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her vision loss. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Proeung learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for four and a half hours seeking treatment. On November 22, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
Proeung said,” hope that after surgery, I can continue my work on the farm and can harvest cashews for the coming season.”
