Meet Princess, a playful and active little 20-month-old girl from the Philippines. She has two older siblings. They live with their parents in a small bamboo house. Her mother works as a laundress, and her father is a fisherman.
Princess has been diagnosed with moderately acute malnutrition. Poor nutrition is associated with almost half of all deaths in young children worldwide.
Fortunately, malnutrition is also very treatable. On February 22, Princess will begin her treatment program. Our medical partner, International Care Ministries (ICM), will provide her with nutrient-rich food packs and additional micronutrient supplements. Princess’s growth and progress will be monitored, and her parents will also be taught how to prepare nutritious meals for their daughter.
Princess’s parents are unable to pay for the $184 treatment plan. ICM is asking for donations to help Princess recover from her medical condition and grow into a strong and healthy young girl.
Her mother shares with ICM that she “prays for Princess to finish her studies so that she can achieve her dreams and aspirations in life.”
