Sorn is a rice farmer from Cambodia. He has three sons and one daughter. He enjoys watching news programs and boxing matches on TV.
Six years ago, Sorn developed a cataract in his right eye, causing him blurred vision, tearing, and photophobia. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Sorn learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, he traveled for three and a half hours seeking treatment. On March 19, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his right eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
He says, “I hope I can see clearly so I can continue feeding my animals, continue my work as a farmer, and I can go to my farm on my own.”
