Hoeung is a 39-year-old construction worker from Cambodia. He has one son, one daughter, and enjoys watching boxing on the television in his spare time.
Two months ago, Hoeung developed a cataract in his right eye, causing him vision loss. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Hoeung learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, he traveled for three and a half hours seeking treatment. On July 4, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his right eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
He says, “I hope that after my surgery I am able to see clearly and can return to my work as a construction worker.”
