Srouy is a farmer from Cambodia. He grows bananas, mangos, and corn. He likes to read and watch boxing matches in his free time. He has three daughters, six sons, and fifteen grandchildren.
Two years ago, Srouy developed a cataract in each eye, causing him blurry vision, tearing, and photophobia. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Srouy learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, he traveled for four hours seeking treatment. On November 1, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in each eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $398 procedure.
He says, “I hope my vision improves so I can lead an independent life.”
