Vilma is a young woman with two very active children who run circles around her. She is very involved in her community and is currently working on a project to prevent child malnutrition (go Vilma!).
Unfortunately, Vilma suffers from allergic conjunctivitis (inflammation of the eyes due to allergies). This is a very common condition—one that is usually treated quite easily—but because eye medications are very expensive, Vilma’s condition has led to severe eye pain and scarring of her corneas. It is, by far, the worse case of this condition that the staff at Wuqu’ Kawok have ever seen in their medical careers!
Vilma needs $200 to pay for eye medications that will reduce her visual problems and pain. She will also get regular follow up care with an eye specialist who can check her progress and prevent more permanent damage to her vision.
Let’s help Vilma keep her vision so she can continue being active in projects like fighting child malnutrition as well as taking care of her own family!
