Noeung is a 34-year-old fried noodle cook. He is married and his wife works in a clothing factory. They have a 17-year-old daughter and three sons who are seven, five and four years old. In his free time, Noeung likes to play with his children, help his wife around the house, and play football with his friends.
About a year ago, Noeung developed a mass on his neck, which has since grown quickly. He has been diagnosed with an anterior cystic mass on his spine. He doesn’t experience pain, but he feels very self-conscious about his appearance and ashamed when people stare at him and is worried about its continued growth.
Fortunately, our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), is helping Noeung receive treatment. He traveled to CSC’s care center where, on December 3rd, surgeons will remove the mass. Now, Noeung needs help raising $231 to fund his procedure and care.
Noeung shared that he hopes after excision, his neck will have no problems, no pain or infection. He would like to get back to work to support his family.

Noeung underwent mass removal surgery and is recovering well.
Noeung was worried about having surgery, but his mass was increasing in size and he was worried it was cancer. Specialty surgeons diagnosed it as a large fluid cyst attached to his trachea, and successfully removed it. He will return to his province after his stitches have been removed, and surgeons are hopeful it will not recur. Once his neck heals he will be able to return to cooking his famous noodles and can support his wife and children.
Noeung’s wife shared, “We were so worried about the growth on Noeung’s neck. We are grateful that it is gone and Noeung can return home and work again. Thank you to the surgeons and donors who made it possible for Noeung to have this surgery.”
