Somaly is a seven-month-old baby girl from Cambodia. She has one sister and one brother. She likes to be looked after by her mother at home.
Somaly was born with syndactyly of her right hand and right foot. Four of her fingers and two of her toes are fused together.
Somaly’s parents heard about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), from their neighbor who had been to CSC before. Somaly traveled for three hours with her grandmother to reach CSC for treatment.
On July 13, surgeons at CSC will perform a release procedure on her hand and foot to help Somaly feel comfortable. The $365 requested to fund Somaly’s treatment will cover the full cost of the procedure, including a hospital stay, labs, radiology, supplies, and surgeon time.
