Phannith loves to play with toys and has a lot of energy! Unfortunately, this Cambodian kid has difficulty walking and running because of something that happened to him when he was an infant.
When Phannith was a baby, he had a bad fever. His village doctor gave him injections in the leg to make him better. But they caused his leg to become stiff. He cannot bend his knee, which reduces his overall mobility and makes it hard for his body to keep up with his active personality.
For $300, Phannith will receive a surgical procedure called a quadriplasty to improve his leg’s flexibility. His mother hopes that he will be able to start school soon. Let’s help Phannith get better so he can play with his new classmates!
