Meet Samnang, a four-year-old boy from Cambodia who likes to ride his bicycle. Samnang was born with meningoencephalocele. Known as MEC, this is a rare congenital condition that doctors describe as, “associated with poverty and subsistence living, due to the consumption of mouldy rice which produces toxins that interfere with neural tube development in the human embryo.”
They go on to explain that due to his condition, “Samnang has frequent headaches and can only see out of one eye. His headaches are so severe that his family spends the little money they have on expensive medicine. His mother was so happy to hear from a villager that her son could get a surgery to relieve his pain and make him look more normal. They traveled 8 hours to CSC from their remote village.”
For $375, we can fund a surgery to treat Samnang’s condition which will reduce his pain and improve his life. Let’s support his shot at good health!
