Nai Im is a 74-year-old rice farmer from Cambodia. She has six children, sixteen grandchildren, and enjoys listening to the monks pray on the radio in her free time.
One year ago, Nai Im developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her vision loss. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Nai Im learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for three and a half hours seeking treatment. On October 07, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
Nai said, “I hope that after my surgery I will be able to look after my grandchildren and can return to the Pagoda.”
