Narama is unfortunately not going to receive the treatment you funded, so we've just sent you a gift card in the amount of your donation.
Delivering healthcare in rural Nepal can be an incredible challenge, and unexpectedly, after her medical care was funded on Watsi, Narama was unable to receive treatment because of multiple logistical hurdles.
We are so sorry for the delay in sending a final update to you about Narama. We are committed to transparently reporting all patient outcomes to you, so it’s important to us that you decide where your money goes next.
We’ve just emailed you a Watsi gift card for the same amount as your donation to Narama. We’d love for you to use this gift card to support another Watsi patient of your choice. But if you do not want to reallocate your donation to another patient, we’ll gladly refund your contribution.
Thanks again for supporting Watsi patients, we can’t tell you how much we appreciate it.
Narama is a 45-year-old woman from Nepal with rheumatic heart disease. She has suffered from swelling in her hands and feet, chest pain, irregular heartbeat, difficulty breathing, and dizziness for ten years, but has been unable to afford medical care. She needs surgery to treat her condition and enable her to live a normal life.
Narama has a son and five daughters who depend on her. She is unable to work because of her condition, and she worries that if something were to happen to her, there would be no one to take care of her family.
Narama enjoys spending time with her children and wants to see them study and grow up. Let’s help her with the treatment she needs so she can get back to taking care of them.
