Aly is a 35-year-old man from Mali. He lives with his wife and their nine-month-old infant. Aly works as a tailor, bicycling daily through neighborhoods in search for clothing orders or repair jobs. He loves his work as a tailor, which brings in less than $2 a day and helps to support his family. When Aly returns from work, he enjoys playing soccer with others in the neighborhood.
Aly suffers from chronic hemorrhoidal disease, which he previously sought to treat with traditional medicines. The treatment has not been effective, and his hemorrhoid has thrombosed, meaning that a blood clot has developed. This condition causes Aly intense, debilitating pain, which makes it hard for him to sit down or to be productive.
Aly tells our medical partner, Project Muso, that, “he needs to recover in order to be able to work again. He wants to rid himself of his daily, agonizing pain and wants to be able to resume playing his favorite sport, soccer.”
Help us raise $540 for a surgical resection of the hemorrhoid. With the procedure, Aly should stop feeling pain and will be able to return to work and to a normal routine.
