Chanry is a fourth grade student from Cambodia. She has one older sister, and enjoys reading books and singing.
Three years ago, Chanry had an ear infection. This infection caused the tympanic membrane, or the ear drum, in her right ear to perforate. For this reason, Chanry experiences hearing loss, fevers, itchiness, and discharge. She often has difficultly hearing others and concentrating in the classroom.
Chanry traveled to our medical partner’s care center to receive treatment. On November 5th, she will undergo a myringoplasty procedure in her right ear. During this procedure, surgeons will close the perforation. Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, is requesting $423 to fund this procedure. This covers medications, supplies, and inpatient care.
Chanry’s mother said, “I hope that my daughter will no longer suffer from any hearing loss or ear discharge, and I won’t have to worry about her condition anymore.”
