Three-year-old Dorcus from Uganda is the only child in her family. She has been diagnosed with pneumonia by our medical partner, the Kellermann Foundation. This has caused her to develop an acute cough and have difficulty breathing, requiring oxygen support.
When she’s not ill, Dorcus attends a local school and she dreams of becoming a nurse when she grows up to help conduct baby deliveries. “She even likes carrying babies and imitates her mother,” shares the Kellermann Foundation.
$90 will cover Dorcus’ pneumonia treatment, including a 3-day hospital stay and antibiotics to ensure her recovery.
“I am sure this care in the hospital will help her to keep focused about her dream,” says Dorcus’ mother. “We have been treated very well every time we come here for services.”

Dorcus received pneumonia treatment.
Dorcus’ pneumonia treatment was successful and she is feeling much better. “She will go home and go back to school which she enjoys very much,” explains her doctor at The Kellermann Foundation. “She was reluctant to leave the hospital, though, because she wants to be a nurse when she grows up - and liked learning what the nurses do. She even asked to borrow a stethoscope!”
“The nurses and doctors are so good at the hospital. Thank you for the care for my child,” shares Dorcus’ mother.
