Sovat is a farmer from Cambodia. She has two sons, four daughters, and ten grandchildren. She likes to watch movies and listen to monks pray on the radio.
Three years ago, Sovat developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her blurred vision, tearing, and photophobia. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Sovat learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for four hours seeking treatment. On July 9, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
She says, “I hope I can see everything clearly so I can continue my work as farmer again.”
