Vuthy is a 31-year-old father from Cambodia who lives with his parents, wife, and five year-old son in Takéo Province. His mother is a factory worker and his father is a Tuk-Tuk driver. Vuthy’s wife also works in a nearby factory part-time and cares for their five-year-old son. Vuthy works as a beverage delivery driver, transporting cases from wholesalers to retail stores. In his free time, he loves playing with his son and helping him with his homework.
About a year ago, Vuthy was involved in a traffic accident, sustaining a fracture of his left collarbone. He went to a local hospital and doctors fixed a hardware to help in healing the fracture. Presently, the hardware is causing him discomfort when he lifts his left arm, and doctors have recommended its removal, to restore his arm’s function.
Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, can help. On June 6th, Vuthy will undergo a hardware removal procedure, which will help him use his arm easily again. Vuthy is able to contribute $80 towards his medical costs and needs help raising $224 more to fund the procedure.
Vuthy says, “After treatment, I hope I can move my arm again, so it’s easier for me to work and take care of my family.”
