Khouch is a 25-year-old rice farmer from Cambodia. He and his wife have three young sons. When he is not farming, he works in construction to supplement his family’ss income. His wife also farms alongside him. In his free time, he likes to play soccer with his friends and take his sons out in nature.
In November 2019, Khouch was in a motor vehicle accident that caused a fracture to his right tibia. His wife took him to a local hospital, where doctors installed screws to fix the fracture. However, after three months the hardware became infected and Khouch began to feel pain while walking. The hardware is now exposed and needs to be removed.
Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, can help. On August 11th, Khouch will undergo a hardware removal procedure, which will cost $230. This procedure will stop any infection from spreading and will allow his leg to heal properly, so that he can walk easily.
Khouch said, “I hope that my leg can heal completely and that there are no problems with the surgery. I hope I can recover quickly and do my daily work again.”
