Vang is a 22-year-old Cambodian man who followed in his father’s footsteps by going into construction. He has been unable work for several months, however, after breaking his femur in a motorcycle accident in July.
Vang couldn’t afford the initial care he needed, and his bones have healed improperly as a result. He can’t walk or work. This hardworking young man’s entire life has been put on hold by this accident.
Luckily, Vang’s father brought him to Children’s Surgical Centre, where for $300, surgeons can operate on his leg and repair his broken bone for good.

Vang received surgery to fix his broken femur.
After a successful surgery, Vang can already walk with crutches and bend his leg 45 degrees, which he could not do before. He will continue to work with the physiotherapy team at the Children’s Surgical Centre to regain strength and flexibility.
Vang told our medical partners, CSC: “I feel really good.”
