Sushila is a 8-year-old girl living in Nepal with her mother and grandparents. Our medical partner, Possible, tells us, “Sushila’s family tend to the farm to make ends meet. Her father lives in Malaysia to support the family. Sushila plays with her friends and enjoys reading Nepali stories.”
“Sushila was playing kabaddi with her friends when they began arguing about the rules,” Possible explains. “They started to push and shove each other. Sushila fell down and fractured her left elbow. She has been in a lot of pain since and the injury has swollen considerably.”
$224 will cover the cost of an orthopedic repair for Sushila’s fracture, giving her a cast so her fracture will heal correctly. This procedure, with the help of physiotherapy, will allow Sushila to move about and return to all of the activities that he could do before the accident.
“Thankfully Sushila just finished her exams,” said Sushila’s grandfather, “She at least won’t be missing school.”
