Bosa is a 12-year-old student living in Cambodia with his mother and four older sisters. Bosa enjoys reading books and playing games.
For the past year, Bosa has had difficulty swallowing and breathing. His voice sounds hoarse, and he has constant nasal drainage. He traveled with his mother to our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), for medical treatment. His ENT doctors have diagnosed him with hypertrophy of the adenoids and tonsils. As medications have not been helpful, they have recommended surgical intervention.
Bosa is recommended for adenoidectomy and tonsilectomy to remove the tissue causing his symptoms. The CSC tells us that the total cost for the procedure is $201, which covers the medications, supplies, and one day of inpatient care in addition to the procedure.
“I hope my nose stops being runny and I can breathe easily after my surgery,” Bosa’s mother shares, “I hope my son can eat well and have good health after his operation.” Following the surgery, Bosa will be able to breathe and swallow easily, and his voice will also improve.
