“Dinesh enjoys reading Nepali stories and playing volleyball,” says our medical partner, Possible. They add that the eight-year-old boy from Nepal “enjoys reading Nepali stories and playing volleyball. His father works in the government and mother is a home maker. He also has one younger brother who he loves dearly.”
“Dinesh was first diagnosed with [an inguinal] hernia about five years ago,” Possible shares. An inguinal hernia is caused when a section of the lower intestinal tissue protrudes through part of the abdominal cavity, causing discomfort.
Possible states, “Dinesh took some medication to satiate the pain and swelling.” After the problem persisted, his father grew worried that his son’s condition could cause complications in the future and resolved to seek medical care.
$491 covers the cost of Dinesh’s hernia repair operation which will restore the normal structure of his intestine. In addition to relieving his discomfort, this operation will reduce Dinesh’s abdominal pressure by restoring the displaced tissue and preventing his blood supply from being cut off in the future.
Dinesh’s father shares, “I hope my son’s treatment is successful.”
