Oun is a grandmother from Cambodia. She has 12 children and loves to spend time with them. She also enjoys ceremonies at the pagoda in her village.
Six years ago, Oun developed a cataract in each eye, causing her itchiness, vision loss, frequent headaches, and sensitivity to light. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Oun learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for two hours seeking treatment. On December 7, doctors will perform phacoemulsification and an intraocular lens implant in each eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $398 procedure.
Her son says, “I hope my mother can improve her vision and go places by herself.”
