Nai is an 89-year-old rice farmer from Cambodia. She has four children, twenty grandchildren, and enjoys visiting the pagoda in her free time.
One year ago, Nai developed a cataract in her right eye, causing her blurry vision, tearing, and irritation. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Nai learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for half an hour seeking treatment. On July 11, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her right eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
She says, “I hope that after surgery I can see clearly and be able to return to weaving rice mats.”
