Luz is a three-year-old girl from a mining town in central Bolivia. Her mother is a farmer and her father sadly passed away from a heart attack soon after she was born. Luz has a cardiac condition called ventricular septal defect, in which a hole exists between the two lower chambers of her heart. Blood leaks through this hole without passing through her lungs to obtain oxygen, leaving her weak and dependent on an external oxygen tank. Fortunately, our medical partner, The International Cardiac Alliance can help. Luz is scheduled to undergo heart surgery on March 21st. Our medical partners are requesting $1,500 to fund her procedure. Luz's mother says, "I am looking forward to my daughter being able to play normally and start preschool after her surgery!"

Immaculate is a 22-year-old farmer from Uganda. She and her husband are expecting to deliver their baby but due to previous health complications and challenges accessing pre-natal care, her doctors recommend that she deliver via a Cesarean section to ensure the safety of both mother and child. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is helping Immaculate undergo a C-Section on March 1st. This procedure will cost $207 and Immaculate needs your support. Immaculate says, ‘’Thank you, donors, for putting a smile of hope on my face. I have high hopes of having a safe surgery and I know I will receive a live baby. May God bless every one of you. I will be able to continue with my usual activities of farming and later I set up a grocery shop.’’

Sansy, who is an only child, is an active nine-year-old, living with his parents in Phnom Province in Cambodia. His father works in a factory, and his mother sells snacks from in front of their house. Sansy, who enjoys eating pizza and swimming, would like to be a translator when he grows up. For five years, Sansy has been experiencing difficulty swallowing, frequent throat infections, and snoring at night. He often misses school, and has a hard time concentrating, because he does not sleep well. Sansy was recently diagnosed with enlarged tonsils and adenoids, which, if not treated, will cause his symptoms to persist, and to intensify over time. Our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, is requesting $265 to fund a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy for Sansy, which is scheduled to take place on January 8th, at Kien Khleang National Rehabilitation Centre. During the procedure, surgeons will remove his tonsils and adenoids, hopefully relieving Sansy of his symptoms, and helping him to live much more comfortably. Sansy's mother said: "I hope my son will get better and stop getting such frequent infections. We don't want to continue spending money on medicines that have not helped him."
