Jeremia is an 11-month-old baby boy. He is the only child in his family and lives with both parents, who work as pastoralists. They keep cattle and occasionally cultivate maize during the farming season to support their family. Jeremia has clubfoot on both feet, a congenital condition in which feet are twisted inward. Without appropriate treatment, this condition can make walking difficult and affect his ability to wear regular shoes comfortably as he grows. When Jeremia was born, his parents were unaware that medical treatment could help correct the position of his feet. Hope came when the Kafika House outreach team visited their village and identified Jeremia as a child who could benefit from treatment. For his parents, this discovery opened the door to an opportunity they had not previously known was available. Following an assessment, Jeremia has been scheduled to begin clubfoot treatment on October 20th. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $341 to fund Jeremia's clubfoot repair. Rathana is a 17-year-old factory worker from Cambodia. He is the first child in his family and lives in Kampong Speu Province with his parents and younger brother, who is in Grade 7. His parents work in a garment factory, and because of financial difficulties, he had to leave school and now works with them. In his free time, he enjoys playing volleyball and football with his friends in the village. His favorite foods are lemongrass sour soup and eggs. On June 28th, 2026, Rathana fell from a motorbike and briefly lost consciousness. He was taken to a provincial hospital, where X-rays showed a closed fracture of his left femur and an open fracture of his left forearm. Because he could not afford the recommended surgery, he later received treatment with a bamboo splint and traditional care. The fractures eventually healed in an abnormal position. His left leg is now shorter than his right, which has made walking difficult. He has been using crutches since the accident and has not yet tried walking. Although he experiences only a little pain, the shortened leg remains his main concern. Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, can help. On October 1st, Rathana will undergo a fracture repair procedure, which will help stabilize the bone in its improved position and support his recovery, helping him gradually regain the ability to walk and return to his normal activities and work. Her family can contribute $100, but needs help raising $500 more to fund his procedure and care. Rathana's mother said, “I worry about how much my son has struggled with his leg since the accident. I hope this surgery will help his leg heal in a better position so he can start walking again, return to his normal activities, and get back to work.”

Kataleya is a sweet 13-year-old girl from Bolivia. Kataleya lives in the northern part of the country with her mother, who is a homemaker; her dad, who works in agriculture; and her younger sister. Kataleya was taken to the doctor with complaints of headaches, and it was during this visit that doctors heard a murmur and discovered her heart problem. Kataleya has a cardiac condition called an atrial septal defect. A hole exists between the two upper chambers of her heart: blood leaks through this hole, leaving her weak and short of breath. On May 20th, Kataleya will undergo heart surgery at our medical partner's care center, Hospital del Niño Dr. Ovidio Aliaga Uría. During surgery, surgeons will sew a patch over the hole so that blood can no longer leak through it. Kataleya's family needs help to fund the costs of cardiac care and surgery. Our medical partner, International Cardiac Alliance, requests $1,500 to cover the cost of cardiac exams and diagnostics, surgical costs, follow-up care, and medications. Kataleya's mother shared, "I'm grateful that my daughter is receiving her surgery. They told me the heart murmur was going to close with time, but recently we found out it didn't. I pray she will have a good surgery, and she can feel much better so she can exercise as she wishes."
