Channy is a four-year-old toddler, who lives with her parents and her grandmother in Phnom Penh. Her father is a construction worker and her mother works in a local factory. She stays home with her grandmother, where she enjoys playing with toys. She loves eating chicken and drinking milk.
Channy has had a mass on her right lower eyelid since she was born. Recently it has grown in size. Doctors have diagnosed it as a cyst. Dermoid cysts occur when tissue collects under the skin. She rubs it frequently because it itches, and it has become red and bothersome.
Channy’s family traveled to our medical partner’s care center, Children’s Surgical Centre, to receive treatment. On January 4th, surgeons there will remove the mass. Now, Channy needs $273 to fund this procedure.
Channy’s mother said, “I hope the cyst can be removed and Channy’s eye will look normal again.”
