Cheun is a 60-year-old woman with two daughters, three sons, and six grandchildren. She lives with her grandchildren and husband, who is a farmer. Cheun stays at home to look after her grandchildren and do all the cooking for her family.
Taking care of her grandchildren has become more difficult since three years ago when Cheun developed a cataract in her left eye. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
Doctors at our medical partner CSC will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye to help with her condition. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly and return to her daily activities.
Cheun shared, “I hope after my surgery I can be comfortable doing my housework and traveling outside. I want to make delicious food for my family and help my husband plant rice.”
