Gech Ing is an eight-year-old student. She lives in the capital city of Cambodia with her siblings and parents.
For a year now, Gech Ing has been experiencing a sore throat and difficulty swallowing. Frequent illnesses have caused her to miss school and skip meals. Gech Ing was recently diagnosed with enlarged tonsils and adenoids, which, if not treated, will cause her symptoms to persist and possibly intensify over time.
Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, is requesting $241 to fund a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy for Gech Ing, which is scheduled to take place on October 19th. Surgeons will remove her tonsils and adenoids, hopefully relieving Gech Ing of her symptoms and helping her live much more comfortably.
Gech Ing’s mother shared, “after surgery I hope my daughter will be better and be able to eat comfortably again.”

Gech Ing underwent a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy.
Gech Ing’s parents took their neighbor’s advice and brought their daughter to Children’s Surgical Centre for surgery. Gech Ing’s surgery was successful and she is now back home and feeling so much better. She no longer has nausea, painful swallowing, or an infection. These were the main source of her discomfort, and she will now be able to grow up without her family worrying about the infections coming back. She looks forward to returning to school and playing with her friends.
Gech Ing’s mother said: “The staff put us at ease and we are grateful for their help. She can breathe easily and sleep much better at night. Thank you to everyone who helped my daughter have good health again.”
