Dina is the youngest of five siblings from a remote province in Cambodia. In November 2012, Dina was hit in a car accident, leaving fractures that his local hospital could not perform surgery on. Since then, he hasn’t been able to return to his job at a garment factory.
Nevertheless, Dina remains a crucial part of his household by helping out with cooking and other activities. He hopes to one day return to the volleyball court; Dina is the captain of a volleyball team that has played all around the country. For now, Dina needs surgery and external frames to walk again.
The treatment cost of $600 will cover the external frame that will gradually correct his alignment until the bone completely heals. With this funding, doctors have the opportunity to help Dina gain back his mobility and decrease the pain he currently experiences on a daily basis.
