Laysim is a 28-year-old farmer from Cambodia who is married and has one son. She likes to pick beans from her garden and work at home in her free time.
In early July of 2017, Laysim developed a skin infection on her right big toe that increased in size over time. She now experiences pain, swelling, and pus discharge from the wound. Consequently, it is difficult for Laysim to walk on her right foot.
Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, is requesting $262 to cover the cost of a debridement procedure for Laysim, which is scheduled to take place on July 18. Surgeons will remove damaged and infected tissue from her wound, and, once the treatment is completed, Laysim will hopefully be able to walk easily and comfortably again.
