Thorng is a 71-year-old woman from Cambodia who used to work as a farmer. She is married with three sons and two daughters. Thorng likes to look after her grandchildren and listen to monks pray on the radio.
In September, Thorng fell on a slippery floor and injured her right hip. Since then, she has been in pain and unable to walk on her own.
After learning about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), Thorng traveled for three hours with her daughter to reach CSC for treatment. On October 26, surgeons performed a hip hemiarthroplasty on her right side, replacing half of her hip joint. After recovery, she should be able to walk easily. Now, she needs help to fund this $450 procedure.
