Yorn is a 69-year-old farmer from a family with four younger sisters. Yorn lives alone but helps look after her grandchildren in her free time. Her nephew has been helping her by bringing her food since her vision has gotten worse.
Two years ago, Yorn developed a cataract in her right eye, causing her blurry vision and irritation. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Yorn learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for three and a half hours seeking treatment. On October 13th, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and will place an intraocular lens implant in her right eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, Yorn needs help to fund this $229 procedure.
Yorn said, “I hope my eye can see clearly again so I can get around myself and recognize things.”
