Chroeun is a 35-year-old corn farmer and father from Cambodia. He and his wife have three children aged three, eleven, and fifteen. His children attend school, and his wife works with him in the corn fields. In his free time, Chroeun enjoys spending time with his family, and prior to his accident, he was an avid volleyball player.
In February, Chroeun suffered burns on both of his arms from a fire at the corn fields. Burn scan contractures have developed, tightening the skin around his elbows. As a result, it is difficult for him to bend his arms, and he has difficulty doing everyday tasks. When Chroeun learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), he traveled for an hour seeking treatment. On November 2nd, surgeons at CSC will perform a burn contracture release surgery to help improve function in his arms. CSC is requesting $495 to fund this procedure. Chroeun contributed $100 to his care.
Chroeun shared, “ I hope I can move my arms better so I can go back to work and help support my family.”
