Veng is a 94-year-old grandfather from Cambodia. He is married with four sons, one daughter, and 12 grandchildren! Veng enjoys reading the Buddhist holy book and listening to monks pray on the radio.
About one year ago, Veng developed cataracts in each of his eyes, causing him blurred vision and sensitivity to light. Seeking treatment, he visited our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC).
On April 24, Veng will undergo surgery at Kien Khleang National Rehabilitation Centre, CSC’s care center. He will receive intraocular lens implants in each of his eyes, allowing him to see clearly again. CSC is asking for $292 to cover the cost of his treatment.
Veng is looking forward to his recovery!

Veng underwent cataract surgery.
His eye cataract was successfully removed from his right eye, and clear vision has been restored. Following the operation, he was given eye drops to reduce inflammation and prevent infection. He will return soon for the same surgery on his left eye.
Veng says, “I feel happy that I can see clearly again. I can do my work at home and read better. I can go anywhere outside by myself without needing to disturb another person to take care of me.”
