Reuben received surgery to minimize his future risk of testicular cancer.

Reuben’s surgery went well and as it was minimally invasive, his wound has already healed. A few weeks later Reuben is a happy boy once more and most importantly, he is no longer at risk for testicular malignancy.

“I’m not sure if thank you is enough,” his mother said of the support she and Reuben received from Watsi donors. “Do you think I should say anything else? Please tell them thank you very much!”

Young Reuben is ready to take on the world! He and his mother have had a hard start, though. When Reuben was born, he was diagnosed with Down’s syndrome. Because of this, his father abandoned Reuben and Gladys, his mother. Now, Gladys is working as a volunteer in a center for children with disabilities and supporting her child through the aid of the center.

Due to his Down’s syndrome, Reuben is at risk for a number of other issues. Reuben is currently experiencing one of these - cryptorchidism, or undescended testicle.
