Shallon is a 24-year-old mother of two. She and her husband are both farmers, who grow food for their home consumption. When she is not farming, Shallon enjoys visiting with friends and relatives in her village, and playing with her children.
Seven months ago, Shallon fell while digging in her farm, and broke her right femur. She could not afford to go to the hospital, so she went to the traditional bone-setters in her village. This treatment did not work, however, and has left her in more pain and with a limp.
Shallon sought assistance through our medical partner, The Kellermann Foundation, and is now scheduled to undergo fracture repair surgery on April 28. She is requesting $478 to cover the total cost of her procedure.
Shallon is looking forward to being able to work without pain after surgery and would like to send her thanks to all the donors. “I pray to God to bless the donors in all that they do so they may be able to continue to help others,” she says.
