“I would like to grow and be as strong as my mother, be able to carry food and children on my back like mother carries us,” Racheal shares.
Five-year-old Racheal lives in Uganda with her parents and three siblings.
“Racheal likes playing with other children in the community. Her parents are young and do not have land for farming, they do farm labour for a living,” shares our medical partner, the Kellermann Foundation.
“Like many children in this region Racheal faced the problem of not having sufficient food, or receiving the nutrients she needs to develop healthily. As a result of this, Racheal has been diagnosed with malnutrition.”
With $375, Racheal’s malnutrition and stunting will be treated and managed with therapeutic milk, medication, and diagnostic tests in the hospital.
“Strong again, she will be a hopeful, cheerful child to play with the other children in the community and later go to school,” the Kellermann Foundation adds.

Racheal received treatment for malnutrition.
“Racheal was admitted for malnutrition and her treatment has been progressing as planned,” reports our medical partner, The Kellermann Foundation. “She is eating well and feeling stronger.”
“After being admitted, however, her doctors determined that she is also suffering from a hematological malignancy or lymphoma, and that she should be transferred to the Mulago Cancer Center for further tests,” continues the Kellermann Foundation. “She will [be] traveling to the cancer center with her parents and a supply of Plumpy’Nut [a nutritional peanut paste used to treat malnutrition] to continue her nutritional therapy.”
“Thank you for this wonderful gift,” says Racheal’s mother. “We pray that our beloved daughter continues to improve.”
Should Racheal’s family require support for her further medical care, she will be re-eligible for Watsi funding.
