Samoun is a 70-year-old rice farmer from Cambodia. He is married and has one daughter. Samoun likes to read books and listen to the radio in his free time.
Samoun developed a cataract in each eye about three months ago, causing him blurred vision, tearing, and sensitivity to light. It has been difficult for him to see things clearly, do his work, and be independent. After hearing about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), Samoun decided to seek treatment.
On March 22, Samoun will undergo a phacoemulsification procedure at CSC’s care center, Kien Khleang National Rehabilitation Centre. He will also receive intraocular implants in each of his eyes. CSC is asking for $292 to fund his surgery.
After treatment, Samoun will be able to see clearly again!
