Sunita is a vibrant four-year-old girl who wants to be a teacher when she grows up. About a month ago, Sunita was playing alone in the kitchen and suffered bad burns to her face, especially her cheeks and forehead.
When skin is burned badly, the scar tissue can cause restriction of movement (contractures) to the affected area. Sunita requires reconstructive plastic surgery with skin grafting in order to treat the burn contractures on her face. She and her family were seen at a local healthcare facility that then referred her to a larger center for treatment. With three other children in the household and a very small income made from farming, Sunita’s parents cannot afford the care she needs.
Nyaya Health has stepped in to help and is asking for $1,005 to cover the treatment costs. With your help, Sunita can live a normal life as a social and expressive young girl and be well on her way to giving back to her community as a future teacher!
