Srey Touch is a 61-year-old rice farmer from Cambodia. She has six children, ten grandchildren, and enjoys watching television and listening to the monks pray on the radio.
One month ago, Srey Touch developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her vision loss. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Srey Touch learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for four and a half hours seeking treatment. On November 21, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
Srey Touch said, “I hope that I will be able to go outside again on my own, and continue planting rice and taking care of my grandchildren.”
